Honda is gearing up for the UK’s biggest bike show, Motorcycle Live, and this year, the manufacturer is going all out to entertain its visitors.
The Honda stand will be bigger and better than ever, with live features, racer appearances, information hubs, hospitality and of course, a stunning display of production and racing machinery – including the UK debut of the highly-anticipated RC213V-S and True Adventure prototype models.
The two prototype machines will be arriving at Motorcycle Live straight from their unveiling at EICMA in Milan last week, meaning UK bike fans are amongst the first in the world to see them in the metal. They will be on display alongside Honda’s entire motorcycle and scooter range, including the UK debut of some brand-new models for 2015 – the VFR800X Crossrunner, the 40th anniversary Gold Wing and the Forza 125 sports GT scooter.
Race fans can also enjoy an impressive display of racing machinery from the past and present, including the three special-livery CBR1000RR Fireblades ridden by 2014 British Superbike Championship wild card Julien Da Costa, 21-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness’s Fireblade, the 2015 Team HRC Dakar squad’s CRF450 Rally and the 1989 NXR750 Rothmans Honda Dakar race bike.
Honda Racing’s 2015 British Superbike stars Jason O’Halloran and Dan Linfoot, TT star McGuinness and newly-signed Pata Honda World Superbike rider Sylvain Guintoli will all be appearing on the stand for Q&As and autograph signing sessions.
The Honda Racing Café will make a welcome return, providing a place for show goers to make a pit stop for coffee and cake – with all proceeds being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. The ever-popular My First Licence feature, where children aged five to 11 can have a go on two wheels around a specially constructed indoor street scene, will also make a return to the show.
In line with Honda’s aim to encourage new riders – in particular a younger demographic – to the world of motorcycling, this year will see the introduction of the Honda Hub, which aims to strip back the jargon and provide easy-to-digest expert advice on all elements of motorcycling, from learning to ride, to financing a new machine to organising insurance.
Representatives from the Honda-supported Dave Thorpe Off-Road School in Wales and the Ron Haslam Race School at Donington Park will also be on hand to provide visitors with all the information they need on these popular courses. In addition to all of this, there will be one or two special surprises not to be missed, which will keep the crowd entertained on an hourly basis.
