Top ten for Da Costa aboard special-livery Fireblade celebrating Motorcycle Live

6 October 2014

Honda Racing’s Julien Da Costa came away from his British Superbike Championship wild card ride at Silverstone yesterday with two top ten results, secured aboard his eye-catching special-livery CBR1000RR Fireblade celebrating the UK’s biggest bike show, Motorcycle Live.

Da Costa was easy to spot as he battled on track in both races on Sunday, more than holding his own in the pack of permanent BSB riders to take sixth in race one and eighth in race two. The Frenchman’s appearance was the third of four BSB rides this year, which he is completing as part of the on-going development programme ahead of Honda’s planned full-time return to BSB in 2015.

Each outing has seen Honda Racing run a special livery Fireblade and the colourful Motorcycle Live-themed machine was the latest design. This year’s show will take place at The NEC, Birmingham from 22-30 November and the Honda (UK) stand will be bigger and better than ever, with a whole host of features to keep visitors of all ages entertained – from new bikes to interactive activities and guest race stars.

Da Costa’s Honda Racing team-mates Jason O’Halloran and Freddy Foray continued their Superstock 1000 campaigns at Silverstone yesterday. Despite an impressive second-place finish in the race, O’Halloran’s title hopes were dashed as Danny Buchan claimed the championship trophy. Foray finished in sixth place.

The British Superbike Championship draws to a close on 19 October with the final round at Brands Hatch, which will see Da Costa compete aboard the third and final special-livery Honda Racing CBR1000RR Fireblade.
