As the saying goes, ‘you can’t put a price on peace of mind’, and with a Honda you needn’t worry. In a world where products are no longer built to last, society has sadly come to accept that things aren’t ‘made like they used to be’. At Honda we disagree. For decades our world-renowned Japanese engineering has been synonymous with reliability, and this commitment has been formally recognised by the What Car? Reliability Survey 2025 which has named Honda as the most reliable car brand for 2025.

Top of the leaderboard
Of course, anyone who owns a Honda will not be surprised that Honda has beaten every other manufacturer to be the most reliable. The annual What Car? Reliability Survey is compiled based on vehicle feedback from owners on whether they experienced any faults, the cost to put them right, and the time it took to do so, creating a unique reliability rating for each make and model.
For the 2025 survey, over 32,000 owners were surveyed across 30 brands and a record 227 models, with cars ranging up to five years in age. The in-depth survey identified that all five Honda models had a low fault rate, with any faults being fixed for free by Honda, with over 50% of faults being resolved in a day or less. This gave Honda an impressive overall reliability rating of 96.6%, beating all other manufacturers.
"Honda is a deserving winner of this year’s What Car? Reliability Survey because all five of the models rated gained exceptionally high scores. Best of all was the current HR-V with a rating of 97.5%, followed closely by the latest Civic with 97.3%. Just 15% of the Honda vehicles in the survey had any issues and all were fixed for free by the car maker; more than half of the affected cars were in and out of the workshop in less than a day."
