Twist and go
A centrifugal clutch allows the engine to idle without turning the propeller blades. When you want to go, just roll on the power, and the clutch will engage and drive the propeller.
Reliable and quiet, the ergonomic carry handle of the lightweight BF2.3 allows the Honda experience to be enjoyed anywhere, anytime.
Hitch up the boat trailer, load the Honda BF2.3 into the boot and go.
Unlike a 2-stroke engine, these 4-strokes are so quiet. They’re also more efficient, and there’s no mixing of oil and petrol, which is bad for the environment. So as you accelerate away to the middle of a lake, up a river or around the coastline at sea, you know that the clean water you’re cutting through stays that way.
It has the latest technology that accurately controls the ignition timing, so when you start – even from cold – the air-cooled BF2.3 will never let you down.
It can build more solid torque to move heavier craft if required. It’s simple to operate, easy to keep clean and needs minimum maintenance. Add Honda reliability, superior fuel efficiency and low emissions, and you’ve got all you need to start out on the water.
The Honda 4-stroke engine starts well every time, even from cold.
Here are the engine choices available to you.

We've packed so much into a small engine.
Improving the quality of our own lives means nothing if we don’t consider the living things around us first. And when it comes to the marine environment, there’s simply no excuse for allowing fuel from boats to pollute our oceans and waterways.
Soichiro Honda had a simple idea to make outboard engines cleaner, quieter and friendlier towards aquatic life – he made them 4-stroke. It was a solution that made Honda pioneers in marine engine technology, but more importantly it made us more responsible towards this fragile environmental resource.
The leader in 4-stroke engine technology for 50 years.
The reason is reliability: better salt water protection through better anti-corrosion technology, and superior servicing with specially trained Honda technicians. Every Honda Marine customer has the support of a domestic or professional warranty, so you’re covered whatever the use. It will also maintain the same value throughout its warranty period - that means your last day of cover is as good as your first. We think that’s pretty unbeatable too.
We first anodise the aluminium casing with our patented ‘Double Seal’ process. Then an epoxy primer is applied before the shimmering silver paint. For further protection from UV rays, we apply a clear resin topcoat to finish. And to be absolutely sure, a sacrificial anode is fitted and all connectors are waterproof.
