FAQ

  • What is mulching?

Mulching is the use of the grass you are cutting to help improve the condition of your lawn.

The technique used to improve the soil under your lawn, by using the cut grass as a fertiliser. The ejection channel of the lawnmower between the cutter deck and the collection bag is deliberately blocked to prevent grass from leaving the cutting area. The airflow under the deck cause the baldes to be cut again until it is finely shredded before falling back onto the lawn.

The finely shredded grass rots down and acts as a fertisliser. It can also help the soil retain moisture during the summer, protect the roots of the grass, and even stop weeds growing.

The Honda Versamow System™ is a revolutionary 4-in-1 system that allows you to Mulch, Bag, Discharge and Leaf Shred by simply altering the clip director. This feature is exclusive to HRX537 models, and mulching kits are available for other models as accessories.

For more specific advice and the suitability of mulching for your application please contact your local Honda Authorised Dealer.

  • What speed do Honda mowers travel at?

The ground speeds of individual machines are located in the product's relevant owners manual.

  • What is a Hydrostatic drive?

This feature provides a variable ground speed and, regardless of the speed the mower is travelling, it ensures the blades rotate at a constant speed.

Lawnmowers that have an 'H' in the letters at the end of their model code have this feature.

  • What is Roto-stop®?

This feature lets you empty the grass bag, move objects out of your way in complete safety. It also allows you to cross pathways and drives without risking damagining the blades. When you release the handlebar the blades stop, but the engine keeps running. To start the blades again simply press the bar together once again.

Models that do not have Roto-stop® braking have Blade Brake Control (or BBC) as standard. Blade braking stops the blades and the engine when you release the handle for your safety.
