ASK HONDA

WHAT DOES A CBT TEST INVOLVE?

The Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is an introduction to motorcycling which will give you the riding skills that you need to take to the road. It can usually be completed in a day.

The day covers five different areas including classroom theory, on-site riding practice and a final road trip where you’ll be assessed on your riding skills.

Why do i need to take a cbt test?

You’ll need to bring some motorcycle gear, such as a jacket, riding gloves and a helmet - your Honda instructors can lend you a helmet if you don’t have your own yet.

You can see a breakdown of what the day will involve on this Engine Room page.

If you successfully complete your CBT then you’ll be legally entitled to ride a motorcycle on a public road.
