Deano does the double! Second Superstock victory for Honda Racing at the 2025 Isle of Man TT
Friday 6th June 2025
Dean Harrison secured his second TT victory of 2025 and the fifth Isle of Man win of his career with an assured performance on Friday afternoon.
The Manx-domiciled Yorkshireman underlined his form at this year’s event by completing a clean sweep in both of this year’s Superstock category races on the Honda Fireblade.
Harrison launched cleanly into the race and set strong opening sector times in a pitched battle with his nearest rival, Davey Todd. It was Harrison who led by half a second at the end of the first 37.73-mile lap, having averaged 133.4 mph from a standing start. When the mandatory pit stops were made, the Honda Racing crew’s slick pit stop helped gain more time, which was added to when Todd’s machine refused to restart, costing him more than 10 seconds. From that point on, Harrison was firmly in control.
Running behind him on the road for much of the race was his team-mate, the 23-time TT winner John McGuinness MBE, who enjoyed far better feel in the setup of his machine than had been the case in the opening Superstock encounter, keeping him in the thick of the Top 10 battle and an eventual eighth place finish.
