ASK HONDA
DO I NEED MY OWN MOTORCYCLE FOR A CBT?

If you already own a motorcycle then you understandably might want to ride it while you’re taking your Compulsory Basic Training (CBT).
Yes, you can take your CBT on your own bike. You will need to ensure that it is insured for road use and that your insurer is aware that you will be using your bike when taking the training. However, most training schools will be able to hire you a bike if you would rather use theirs.
Can you do the CBT on your own motorbike?
It is recommended that you provide your own helmet, jacket, gloves and boots so make sure you arrive at the training centre with all of these. You’ll also need a provisional driving licence for the category of bike you are riding.
