Honda's practical SCV 100 Lead topped the overall sales charts for scooters in 2007.
The Lead scooped over 2200 sales during 2007, making it the best-selling scooter of the year and also helping it to second place in the overall top ten – just 71 units behind the leading machine.
Other sales successes were the XR125L taking top-spot in the trail and enduro category. The CBF1000 took third place overall in the sports-touring sector, the CBR1000RR Fireblade was fifth in the fiercely-fought supersport arena, just 278 units off the top spot.
Honda also had no less than three out of the top five positions in the touring category with its Deauville, Pan European and Gold Wing machines. In the overall all powered two wheelers chart for 2007 the Honda SCV100 Lead took second position overall, with the Fireblade and CBR125R joining the SCV in the overall top ten.
For 2008 the updated Lead will build upon this success. The new model has a new 110cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected motor, a new chassis, linked disc brakes and updated cosmopolitan styling. The 2008 Lead 110 offers big scooter styling for small scooter outlay.
