Compact engines filled with Honda’s leading innovations

Light in weight, not on power, our BF60 and BFP60 engines deliver thrilling acceleration and incredible fuel efficiency – all in a nimble package.

Silver power

You’re raring to take your boat out on the water – there’s nothing quite like skimming along, up on the plane.

Especially when you have an engine that delivers, like the BF60. It's full of top class features that push out impressive fuel economy and performance – everything you expect from a Honda. We also offer the BF60 as a BFP60 power thrust model. This gives you two choices of streamlined gear case design, so you can choose the kind of acceleration best for your needs.

Feature heavyweight

Hidden within their sleek, compact design are ingenious Honda ideas.

The BF60 and BFP60 are lean machines – perfect for a medium-sized boat. These compact 998cc three-cylinder engines come with brilliant innovations.

Petrol in its veins

An outstanding feature on both the BF60 and BFP60 is Honda’s renowned PGM-FI. It gives you ultra-responsive performance and better fuel economy by precisely controlling the supply of fuel to the engine. But that’s just the start...

Pearl fin

Catch just a glint of their silver finish and they're instantly recognisable – they cut through the water.

The unique design of Honda marine engines is unmistakeable. And that’s before you start them up and power over the open water – that’s where the real magic begins.

Within an arm’s reach

Both engines have the option of a multi-function tiller handle. As well as throttle and optional Trolling Control, it has an LED panel that displays the engine management status, oil pressure, battery charging and overheating. It also has an audible warning should anything happen while your eyes are elsewhere. It’s unlikely, but if it does – you’ll have time to act.

The optional tiller handle has a reversible shift lever, three-stage handle-height and throttle friction adjustment to take the strain off your arms during long journeys.

Slow ahead, and back again

Small adjustments can be made easily, up or down, by 50rpm with trolling control.

Precise control at slow speed is just as important as high-speed handling, especially if you're fishing at sea, on a river or lake. The optional Trolling Control will hold the power back and let it out in increments of 50 rpm – making it ideal for fishing.

A watertight warranty

Like our engines, a Honda warranty is the best you can get.

Engine reliability is essential if you live and work on the water.

The reason is clear: better salt water protection through better anti-corrosion technology and superior servicing with specially trained Honda technicians. Every Honda Marine customer has the support of a domestic or professional warranty, as long as you stick to the service schedule. It will maintain the same value throughout its warranty period. That means your last day of cover is as good as your first. We think that’s pretty unbeatable too.

Four lines of defence

We first anodise the aluminium casing with our patented ‘Double Seal’ process. Then an epoxy primer is applied before the shimmering silver paint. For further protection from UV rays, we apply a clear resin topcoat to finish. And to be doubly sure, a sacrificial anode is fitted and all connectors are waterproof. Corrosion doesn’t stand a chance.
