13 Sep 2011

At this year's prestigious 'Dealer of the Year Awards', two Honda dealerships scooped first place honours; David Jones Newtown Ltd in Powys won ATV Dealer of the Year and Duttons Mowerworld Ltd in Warrington, Cheshire won Garden Machinery of the Year.

The Awards, organised by Service Dealer Magazine, recognise sales and service excellence among dealers in the land-based equipment market comprising farm machinery, garden machinery, professional turfcare and ATV/Quads.

The winning companies are nominated by manufacturers and suppliers across the industry and the final shortlist then assessed by an independent panel.

The David Jones dealership has been selling motorcycles and ATVs since 1976 and is now regarded as the largest dealership of its type in mid-Wales. The company holds the Honda main franchise, and is also involved in the garden machinery and compact tractor market.

The Duttons business started over 100 years ago, with the present owners Martin Fryer and Jon Driver taking over the business when Peter Dutton retired in 2001.

In selecting them as as overall winners, the judging panel commented

"These companies are highly professional operations with excellent management and total commitment to after-sales support".

Head of Power Equipment for Honda (UK), Phil Webb said:

"These dealerships work very hard to offer a 'best dealer in town' experience to their customers and continually develop and improve their business offering. The fact that they have won these prestigious awards is entirely a just reward for their focus, determination and drive."
