Battery recycling

We can all do our bit to move towards a world of clean driving, starting with recycling our batteries.

New legislation in the UK has banned the disposal of waste automotive and industrial batteries by landfill or incineration from 1 January 2010. So if you’re recycling your vehicle’s 'starter' battery for the first time or possibly your hybrid battery, Honda is here to help - in accordance with the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009.

Options for recycling automotive batteries

Local garage – if you’re replacing your battery at a garage, they may be happy to take your old battery from you for recycling

Local Civic Amenity site/ Recycling Centre - these will accept most types of household waste from local residents free of charge

Search online - the following site may help you find other local recycling businesses - including Authorised Treatment Facilities that dismantle vehicles:
