New manufacturing technology is helping us reduce emissions in to the air from activities such as car painting.

Greater control

By improving the way we paint our vehicles, we’re significantly reducing the release of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) into the air. New robots on Paint Line 1 ensure more paint stays on the car when it’s being sprayed, which means less waste and lower VOC emissions.

Incinerating emissions

In 2008, we opened a bumper paint line that reduces VOC levels still further by burning off spraybooth emissions.

All of these processes are regulated by Swindon Borough Council under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act.
