CR-Z Top Features

Sporty meets hybrid

The CR-Z is a world first. It combines a precise, driver-focused 6-speed manual gearbox with a low emission, parallel hybrid system - made possible by the flexibility of Honda's Integrated Motor Assist system.

The 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder i-VTEC engine works with the electric motor to provide a total power output of 137ps and 190Nm of torque. The electric motor also provides an unusually flat torque curve for a naturally aspirated engine - with the maximum arriving at just 1,000rpm. Both sound great together, too.

This unique coupling* offers CO2 emissions of just 116g/km* and fuel economy of 56.5mpg.

A driving style
to suit your mood

Select SPORT, ECON or NORM. The unique 3-Mode Drive system of the CR-Z means you can choose to boost your enjoyment or economy on every journey - or get the perfect mix of both.

Change modes and the CR-Z will automatically alter the responses of the throttle, steering, idle stop time, climate control, and the level of support from its Integrated Motor Assist system.

Each driving mode is also linked to the meter lighting which changes from red (SPORT) to blue (NORM) to green (ECON) - and when you want an extra burst of sporty power you can use the S+ boost system.

Designed with you in mind

The exciting, sporty looks of the CR-Z are born from a "one-motion wedge" concept, with a low bonnet line and wide stance. These looks are complemented by features such as the split-level rear glass hatch and deep, muscular sculpting.

The car has also been designed for greater economy and cleanliness, with the shallow raked roofline and sharply truncated tail allowing it to cut through the air with minimal disturbance.

And so you can share the driving pleasure of our sporty hybrid coupe with others, the CR-Z has been cleverly designed to seat three passengers.

More powerful than ever

The CR-Z has not been resting on its laurels. The 2013 edition is as pioneering today as when it first launched - featuring a brand new Lithium-ion battery, allowing more power to be packed into an even smaller space.

To make use of this extra power, we created a unique Plus Sport (S+) boost system. Simply push the new S+ button on your steering wheel and you'll enjoy an extra burst of sporty performance for up to ten seconds.

Drive confidently

The CR-Z is distinctly a Honda - not only in its exciting looks and driving performance, but also in its sophisticated level of safety features.

There's Anti-lock Braking System; Electronic Brakeforce Distribution; Vehicle Stability Assist; front, side and curtain airbags; and rear parking sensors. You can drive knowing the CR-Z is more than prepared in case things don't quite go to plan.

CR-Z crowned Eco Gadget of the year

"The Honda CR-Z looks great, and it feels great to be in. It's also relatively small and light, so - for an unethical minute or two - hit the 'Power' button and work the manual gearbox, and it'll go like a little rocket." That's what Fraser MacDonald, editor-in-chief at Stuff magazine had to say about their decision to award the CR-Z 'Eco Gadget of the Year'.
