An i-DTEC engine
with a special particulate filter
600°C hot. That’s when it works best. It’s then that the nasty bits are actually burnt off rather than trapped. So we put the filter right next to the engine – that way it starts creating cleaner exhaust emissions almost as soon as the car has been started. That’s one more step towards even lower emissions.
And we had a bit of a think about the engine too. In fact, we re-engineered the whole thing to make it work even better. Now the entire range is fully Euro 5 emissions compliant. And the new generation i-DTEC – that’s ‘I’ for intelligent – gives you quieter, smoother, more powerful and more efficient performance than ever before.
A diesel automatic
built from scratch
The demand for diesel had been there for a while. But we didn’t want to rush it – we wanted it to be the best it could possibly be. After all, it needed to work with our new super-clean i-DTEC diesel engine.
So, despite it taking more time, we built it from scratch. And once you get behind the wheel, we’re sure you’ll agree – it was worth the wait.
