We want you to get the most out of your ATV, but we also want you to stay safe. Much of our advice is straightforward, like wearing a helmet and protective clothing. But there’s a lot more we can tell you that could make all the difference to your personal safety.
The Honda ATV is born
In 1967, American Honda asked Honda Research and Development for a new product dealers could sell when motorcycle sales cooled off in the winter. After the trialing of many prototypes, the first Honda ATVs (balloon-tyred three wheelers) emerged. At first they were just for leisure, but more and more farmers started riding them to save fuel. In 1984 the TRX200 – with an extra wheel – showed the way forward and the rest, as they say, is history.
